About us

The circular library is part of Fashion PWR, a circular and creative hub located in Linköping.

Our foundation is circularity, creativity, and diversity. As part of our circular hub, we've curated new, vintage, secondhand, and upcycled creations by local designers. We also have our circular library, where our community can buy, borrow, and swap items donated by Fashion PWR or from the local community.

Let's dive in about our circular library!

So the soul of the circular library is giving access to easy, different ways to consume sustainably, by buying secondhand, swapping unwanted for wanted, and borrowing when needed. So everyone can choose how to consume sustainably in accordance with which way fits best for their needs, as well as not be limited to consume by their economy.

We all consume, the difference is how. The goal is to make sustainable consumption more accessible.

It doesn't stop only at sustainability, but goes beyond it, it's also connected to one's dignity.

Being able to consume what you need, and what represents you best, and being able to express yourself is also connected to one's dignity. And your economic situation should not stop you.

Now I have to insert myself in this conversation on a personal level. Hi, my name is Joana and I am behind Fashion PWR and the Circular Library!

This part of our initiative is so important to me as someone who is dedicated to helping people consume more sustainably and showing how easy it can be, and how it can fit any lifestyle, but also on a more personal level. I grew up many times having just a few items in my closet, to a point that I had one pair of jeans, one pair of shoes, and just a few tops, and as a creative person, expressing myself through my style, through my clothes, wasn't possible, and I don't think I was the only one. It is not about vanity; it is about identity, it is access to the bare minimum. So that is what I mean when I say it goes beyond sustainability, it goes beyond that.

So one example that happened here at our circular library: once we got a brand-new rice cooker as a donation, which was a find, but I thought it would take a while to be off our shelf. My mistake, a student came with two suits, left the suits, and took the rice cooker. A brand-new rice cooker like that was like 700 KR; imagine how that could have compromised their budget as a student, one of the phases of your life where you have the most economic constraints.

I could talk much more about what this project means to me, and I hope it means a lot to others too!

Thank you for supporting this initiative!

Have a great day!💚♻️
